Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed co-founders of the Safeguard Humanity Foundation
Today, I stand before you not just as a representative of our mission, but as a voice for countless individuals who endure unspeakable hardships every day across the globe. We have witnessed, firsthand, the painful and distressing realities of human degradation—a stark reminder of the challenges we face as a society and the necessity for the establishment of our noble foundation.
All around us lies the danger of insecurity—a world where human rights are incessantly violated, not only by those who should be our protectors but also by the very systems designed to safeguard our dignity. We see helpless individuals ravaged by poverty and famine, afflicted by diseases and diseases, with lives cut short due to negligence and culpable ignorance.
We cannot turn a blind eye to man’s cruelty against fellow men. Domestic violence, sexual assaults, and teenage pregnancies plague communities worldwide. Countless men, women, and children suffer the torment of homelessness, struggling to survive on the cold streets, while the surge of hungry beggars, refugees, and displaced persons loiters in our cities—driven from their homes by the incessant menaces of insurgency, war, and terrorism. They live in polluted environments, stripped of care, dignity, and hope.
Moreover, we must confront the economic sabotage inflicted by rulers and nations, coupled with the appalling quality of education offered to our young people. Too many have been driven from schools, their dreams shattered due to the lack of financial aid. We cannot ignore the heinous insecurities that plague our society, including kidnappings, child trafficking, murders, and robberies—endless manifestations of a world where human suffering seems to overshadow our collective beauty and integrity, nobility and survival.
These extraordinary and dangerous human experiences are not merely concerns for international and domestic governments and leaderships; they are the core of what drives us at the Safeguard Humanity Foundation. It is these issues that have brought us together, driving our inevitable establishment and shaping our mission and vision, our aims and purposes, our objectives, and our guiding principles and values.
Today dear friends, we stand united, not just in recognizing these challenges, but in our commitment to addressing them head-on. Together, we can safeguard humanity, restore dignity, and foster hope where it has been lost. We are here to create a future where every individual can live free from fear, poverty, and injustice.
Let us reaffirm our dedication to our cause, let our hearts burn with the desire for change, and let our actions speak louder than words. Together, we will make a difference—for humanity, for our communities, and for a better world.
The Safeguard Humanity Foundation (SHUF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing and alleviating the critical issues of human degradation, inequality, and suffering faced by vulnerable populations around the world. It seeks to act as a catalyst for change, creating sustainable solutions that protect human rights and restore dignity to those affected by crises.
2. Our Problem Statement:
The foundation is therefore, hereby established in response to the alarming realities of widespread human suffering, including poverty, violence, discrimination, and lack of access to basic needs such as education, healthcare, and safety. These societal challenges manifest in various forms—malnutrition, homelessness, violence against women and children, and systemic injustices—which require urgent intervention and collective action.
SAFEGUARD HUMANITY 
FOUNDATION (SHUF) CORE VALUE 5. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES –
The world Leaders summit held at Istanbul between May 22n-23rd 2020 focused on ways to Safeguarding Humanity and in strongest term holds that: “..It remains essential to continue to work to ensure respect for norms that safeguard humanity..[1]”The summit regrettably decries the global indiscriminate violation of the sacred human life/right, dignity and integrity for which SHU–Foundation was establish, namely; to protect, to defend, to preserve, to provide and to promote the sacred human life, the dignity and integrity of the human person of every tribe and tongue, people and nations as may be timely and urgently needed so that humanity may attain its ultimate goals and fullest potentials. The Istanbul world gathered leaders’ summit asserts that:
“Serious violations of international humanitarian law and violations and abuses of international human rights law continue to be committed on an alarming scale. They include attacks directed against civilians and the wounded and sick, indiscriminate attacks, starvation of civilians as a method of warfare, rape, torture, and unlawful or arbitrary detention. Direct attacks against and unlawful impediments affecting health care personnel, their means of transport and facilities, as well as humanitarian workers and objects used for humanitarian relief operations have severe and long-term humanitarian consequences[2]”.
Our objectives are intended to achieve or accomplish goals or a set targets[3]. That is the specifics part and details that our Organization will take to reach its goals.
Safeguard Humanity Foundation’s objectives are set towards “Nurturing Humanity’s ultimate goals, fullest potentials and nobility[4]”. Humanity therefore, remains the Centre of sole and greatest attention and Humanity as therein defined, is an entity and the totality of all of us humans. The most important aspect of mankind is the human life, human dignity, and integrity and total well-being. For these, the creator of mankind and of the universe entrusted the whole of earth goods and resources, given for the purpose of mankind in the strictest sense of the term. And that like we noted, is the reason the human life exceeds all expectations, defines all values and supersedes all aspirations[5].
What is Humanity’s ultimate goals, fullest potentials and nobility and how may mankind achieve or attain these?
The target of SHUF is that humanity may accomplish or attain its ultimate goals, reach its fullest potentials and nobility, these are not lofty thoughts and ideas because man is a creature filled with inherent potentialities and by his very nature is noble. TO HUMANITY’S ULTIMATE GOALS IS TIED THE HUMAN LIFE, TO THE FULLEST POTENTIALS IS TIED THE DIGNITY OF MAN AND TO THE NOBILITY IS TIED HUMAN INTEGRITY. Haven said that, we can ask three basic questions following the objectives, namely, what are the goals of humanity, what is or are its fullest potentials, and what is humanity’s nobility?
What is the goal of humanity?
The goal of humanity as an entity will be so difficult for anyone to pinpoint. However, it can be said with utmost precision that the first goal of mankind is the preservation of the human life itself, and then the attainment of happiness (it is our assertion, that TO HUMANITY’S ULTIMATE GOALS IS TIED THE HUMAN LIFE). Without life, nothing These two quests are dominantly present in every person, culture and desire of every nation. All of the worlds and human effort is practically towards man’s ultimate freedom and happiness. However, sustenance of our life and the attainment of happiness means a lot for humanity; including, security, a world peace, and a world free from strife, violence and wars, a world free from sickness and disease, hunger and famine etc.
What are the fullest potentials of humanity?
Again, it is our assertion, that TO HUMANITY’S FULLEST POTENTIAL IS TIED THE HUMAN DIGNITY. Being human, and being endow as human is the fundamental fabrics of the human dignity, which of cause can raise in degree or be lowered contingently following participation in the material, moral, intellectual and religious affairs. Obviously, human beings are wired to develop, learn, and grow, for within man, lays great potential inherent therein and it is up to us to unlock it and maximize those potential. These potentials differ in individual persons and communities or countries, but always for the well-being and development of the humankind.
Human potentials are the totality of the individual and community endowment developed and undeveloped, which includes scientific and technological discoveries, moral, ethical and religious development and the development of the highest socio-economic, cum political system of total well-being and human cooperation[6] and all these dignifies mankind. These potentials are stiffened by strife and war, and all the social misnomer that encapsulate our world. Safeguard Humanity Foundation aware of these, is potentially positioned to fight against those stalwarts that hinder mankind from dignify statues as humans.
“Life is a gift from God, as such nobody has the right to deprive another of his life. Being human beings, we should make the most of our lives, continuously endeavoring to improve ourselves in order to make significant contributions to society, our country and the world. A human being’s heart is profound and complex, in it we carry a greater potential than any creature on earth. This potential is also a gift from God. It requires diligence and ceaseless effort to develop this potential, however if we simply live out our lives without attempting to develop our fullest potential, we have wasted our lives. Michelangelo, Beethoven, Edison, Lao Tze and Confucius dedicated their lives to developing their potential. Just living our lives is not enough, we must look for a higher lever understanding. No one knows how much human potential will be developed, how we understand and treat the enlightenment. Exploring both the known and unknown in the perpetual effort of developing our full potential is the way how humankind understanding the philosophy of life[7]”.
What is the nobility of humanity?
The concept of human nobility is based on two important philosophical assumptions. First, it assumes that there is such a thing as human being and secondly that some values are objectively universal. If we reject one or both of these assumptions the entire idea of human nobility will collapse. The idea of human nobility is undoubtedly founded on the religious principles and man’s universal dominance
We agree with Cofi Annan, one of the noble citizens of the human race when he said that: “Our universal values oblige us to show the same respect and sensitivity for people of other communities that we would expect to receive ourselves. We all have to find within us the courage to celebrate our diversity but also the commitment to tackle the gross inequalities which scar our world[8]”
Addressing those inequalities and in inadequacies that will enable mankind turn around the universal values which by it virtue enables us to treat other with nobility and utmost respect, the Round Table World Leaders at Istanbul 2016, provided the five core commitments aimed to enhance the practical implementation of relevant obligations and strengthen the safety facing humanity with diverse socio economic, political and religious issues which clearly shows the links between fulfilling the rights and of every earth dweller to life, to dignity and integrity, achieving not just gender equality but also racial equality and ending the universal rage of a world ravaged by war, violence, poverty and disease[9].
SHUF STRATEGIC AGENDA FOR HUMANITY
FUNDAMENTAL CORE VALUE 5- SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To Nurture the Human Life, Dignity and Integrity across the widest Spectrums of human Endevour so that mankind may Attain its ultimate goals, Fullest Potentials and Nobility.
1. We are to promote ECO friendly environment and community-led initiatives to enhance sustainable development, climate and environmental justice[FS1] .
2. We are to combat ignorance through quality education, child-care and sponsorship and initiating development programs for young people.
3. We are to fight the root cause of poverty through community-led sustainable food production and skill acquisition campaign initiatives, with focus on sustainable small-scale farming/business enterprises.
4. We are to engage in advocacy and sensitization campaign against harmful drug use, preventable viral diseases, and providing health support and management relief to vulnerable victims of pandemics and humanitarian crisis.
5. We are to advocate for human right, campaign against child trafficking and modern slavery and legal representation to the unjustly imprisoned
6. We are to facilitate the care and rehabilitation of refugees, displaced persons, street children, vulnerable teenage pregnant girls, drug use dependents and sexually abused persons.
7. We are to advocate for peaceful mediatory-initiative campaign and intervention in Community Crises and provide legal support to the victims of abuse, and the unjustly treated across the globe.
Several communities in Nigeria, African and beyond, seriously do not have clean water, no electricity and other social amenities that promote healthy life style, and we work with some of these Communities in other to provide them clean and portable water and energy for healthy life style especially in the rural and some urban areas and communities.
It is the goal, aspiration and vision of SHUF to strive to protect, defend, preserve, provide and promote the human life, dignity and integrity of the human person so that humanity may attain its ultimate goals, and reach its fullest potentials. It is to these noble ends that SHUF’S objectives are spread across wider spectrums of human endevour as a beacon of hope and panacea for human development and humanitarian assistance, with all intent and purpose for the total well-being of humanity <SHUF CORE VALUE 1.docx>.
More Broadly and Elaborately –We Engage Communities and Collaborate with our Partners.
Socialization imposes on man the duty of interaction that sometimes infringes on values positively or negatively and because of the place of the human freedom which must be guaranteed in this process, the disregards of which imposes even disruptions of social, political and even religious orders and thus, erupting violence, conflicts, wars, community crises etc, these in turn affect the general well-being of man because the economic and social welfare will be affected thus. SHUF promotes peace building initiatives for sustainable economic and social development by fostering mutual conflict resolution mechanisms to prevent and mitigate disputes and violence. We foster mediation through dialogue, reconciliation, and understanding among diverse communities to build sustainable peace and social cohesion.
We are to ardiously promote ECO friendly environment and Community-led initiatives to enhance development, climate and environmental justice.
By advocating for environmental protection and sustainable practices that safeguard the planet for future generations.
By raising awareness about the interdependence of human well-being and environmental health, by promoting eco-friendly behaviours and policies.
By working with Communities to provide clean water and energy for healthy life style.
We are to combat ignorance through the provision of quality education, child support sponsorship and empowerment program for young people.
By collaborating with our partners and other NGOs, government agencies and academia, private sectors and organizations to maximize impact and promote synergistic efforts.
By empowering individuals and communities through education, skills training, and capacity-building initiatives.
By prioritizing child/youth education and targeted adult literacy program
We are to fight against poverty through community-led food production initiatives with focus on encouraging small scale sustainable farming/business enterprise initiative.
By promoting economic and social development and empowerment, particularly among marginalized populations, to enhance resilience and self-reliance.
By working in partnership with local communities to ensure that programs and initiatives are responsive to their needs and values.
We are to engage in advocacy and sensitization campaign against harmful drug use, preventable viral diseases and provide health support and management relief to victims of pandemics/humanitarian crisis.

We are to protect and advocate for Human rights, human freedom, campaign against child trafficking and modern slavery and legal representation to indigent drug defendants and victims of human rights violation.
By advocating for the fundamental rights of all individuals, men, women, children, refugees and displaced persons, and persons with disabilities.
By raising awareness about human rights issues and promote respect for human rights principles at the local, national, and Foundation levels.
By advocating for human freedom and the freedom of the oppressed persons or community
By fighting against rape, unlawful torture, and unlawful or arbitrary detention.
We are to facilitate the care and rehabilitation of refugees, displaced persons, street children, teenage pregnant girls, drug use dependents and sexually abused persons.
By raising awareness about human dignity, sex education and the devastating effect of pre-marital sex and teenage pregnancy, HIV Aids, promote pro-life and campaign against the dangers of substance abuse.
By caring for refugees/displaced persons, orphans, vulnerable and remove the homeless children from the streets for a better louse.
We are to advocate for peaceful mediatory-initiative campaign and intervention in Community Crises and provide legal support to the victims of abuse, human rights violation and the unjustly treated.
Success in any human endevour is a collective effort, thus SHUF deeply collaborate with other NGOs, government agencies and academia, including private sectors and organizations to maximize impact and promote synergistic efforts and sustainable development project that are impactful to the communities. We do this in the areas of education, skills acquisition training, capacity-building initiatives, child/youth education and targeted adult literacy program that are remotely and immediately impactful.
In the advocacy for environmental protection and sustainable practices that safeguard the planet for the present and future generations, by raising awareness about the interdependence of human well-being and environmental health challenges thus, promoting eco-friendly behaviours and policies that potent less or no danger for humanity.
The rapid economic, political and social change of our time has imposed unexpected and untold hardships on the populace especially the poor, the displaced persons and the refugees etc, and the remedy or rather the answers are not the distribution of palliatives by any government agency or organization, but a sustainable economic and social re-engineering, empowerment program and initiatives that addresses and enhances resilience and is self-reliant, this can only be achieved by working with partners and local communities to ensure that programs and initiatives are responsive to their needs and values.
Aside the economic and social upheavals confronting man, we are faced more than any other time in human recorded history, untold catastrophic events and the surge of never seeing epidemics, diseases and infirmities, many of which spread so quickly as a result of culpable ignorance and thus, we are on safeguard and awareness campaign against on pandemics and epidemic and meet urgent humanitarian crisis[10]
Our local and global advocacy is champion towards three main targets: the human life, dignity and integrity. That is, the fundamental rights of all individuals. Thus, we fight for the vulnerable and unjustly treated persons and promote respect for human rights and the freedom of the oppressed persons or community, including rape, unlawful torture, and arbitrary detention, we promote sex education and the devastating effect teenage pregnancy, HIV Aids, and substance abuse.

The foundation focuses on vulnerable and marginalized populations, including but not limited to:
– Homeless individuals and families.
– Refugees and displaced persons.
– Victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
– Children and youth lacking access to education and basic resources.
5. SHUF Methods and Approaches:
– Collaboration: Partnering with local organizations, governments, and international bodies to leverage resources and expertise in addressing human rights violations and social injustices.
– Awareness and Advocacy: Raising awareness about human rights issues and advocating for policy changes that protect and improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
– Empowerment Programs: Implementing educational, health, and economic empowerment programs that enable individuals to take charge of their lives and communities.

The overarching objective is to provide a structured approach to alleviating global crises related to human rights, poverty, violence, and inequality, thereby fostering sustainable development and community empowerment.

a. SHUF Advocacy for Human Rights:
– Action Plan: Launch a global campaign to raise awareness of human rights abuses and lobby for policy reforms.
– Implementation: Collaborate with international human rights organizations, engage local communities to document abuses, and create reports that inform policymakers.
– Expected Outcomes: Increased visibility of human rights issues, leading to systemic changes and improved legal protections for vulnerable populations.
b. SHUF Poverty Eradication Programs:
– Action Plan: Develop microfinance programs that provide small loans to individuals and families in poverty to foster entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.
– Implementation: Partner with local banks and NGOs to facilitate training and provide resources for sustainable businesses.
– Expected Outcomes: Job creation, economic empowerment, and reduced reliance on charitable aid.
